Answer:

The design of forked caudal fins enables for good acceleration and maneuvering. Rover and lie-in-wait predators need just that. They need to be fast swimmers, constantly searching for prey or traveling long distances in open waters. Forked caudal fins have less surface area, which means less drag. The less drag they have, the faster they'll accelerate and have advantage to catch prey.

Where do prokaryotes carry out most cellular processes
andreyandreev [35.5K]

In your cells, cellular respiration happens in a special organelle called the mitochondrion. But as mentioned, prokaryotic organisms don't have organelles. Rather than taking place in the mitochondrion, cellular respiration happens either in the cytoplasm or across the plasma membrane of the cell.

an increase in the length of the fatty acid tails.

Explanation:

As average annual temperatures decrease, we would expect to find phospholipids within the cell membranes of organisms to have both saturated

and unsaturated fatty acid tails. Saturated fatty acids tails are arranged linearly, in a way that maximizes interactions between the tails and

decreases bilayer fluidity. Unsaturated fatty acids, on the other hand, have more distance between the tails, fewer intermolecular interactions and

more membrane fluidity. Longer tails and decreased cholesterol also decrease fluidity
