In an experiment, a scientist makes a radioactively labeled probe using human DNA. She then discovers that the probe hybridizes

to a small segment of DNA isolated from a plant. What can she conclude from her results? A.The plant might have a gene that is similar to a human gene. B.The wrong method was used to detect radioactively labeled DNA. C.A plant cell has a cell wall, whereas a human cell does not. D.Plant DNA was accidentally used as a template to make the probe.

Answer: The correct answer is- A.The plant might have a gene that is similar to a human gene.

Probe can be described as the segment of DNA or RNA (generally 100-1000bp in length) that is designed and radioactively labelled to detect the presence of nucleotide sequences, which are complementary to it.

In this question, the probe is synthesised using sample of human DNA but it also hybridizes with the plant DNA.

This indicates that plant genome has certain DNA sequence or gene that is similar to the gene in the human DNA.

Thus, option A) is the right answer.

Drupady [299]

Answer:

Explanation:

Gene expression is when information from a gene is used to product a gene product, this product enables to produce protein as the end product.

Phenotype which is the physical expression of the genetic make up gives the gene expression.

Cat having a fur pigmentation indicates the presence of a functional protein that has fur i.e the genetic make up of the cat has fur which give rise to the phenotypic expression.

Water and the Earth 1:Question 3
Alenkasestr [34]

Answer:

Runoff
