What is the central claim of "What the Black Man Wants"?

English

Blizzard [7]3 years ago

The central claim of "What the Black Man Wants" is:

In a country that was built on the idea of freedom, everyone should have equal rights.

Fredrick Douglass gave this famous speech before the Civil Wars. His speech was about the Hippocratic nature that the Americans have been facing and practicing simultaneously. As he moves on with the speech he becomes angrier. He wants slavery to be abolished through any means. He speaks about the celebration of 4th July which was to be celebrated as the day of freedom. It is very disappointing for him to see that the people are celebrating the freedom of a nation which has been build on the surface of slavery. In his speech, he mentions about his own people who do not associate themselves with the slaves rather they identify themselves with the whites.

Douglass fought for equal rights given to the Blacks to vote. He also wanted equal rights for women including the White women to vote and wanted fair public education granted to everyone.

what is the central idea of "Rickie Fowler Make-a-Wish and the walk a a lifetime at Detroit golf"? a. Professional Athletes Have
sergey [27]

Answer:

C). Life can be challenging, but sometimes dreams come true.

Explanation:

"Rickie Fowler Make-a-Wish and the walk a lifetime at Detroit golf" penned by Shawn Windsor explores the story of a young boy, Anthony Trudel, of 15 suffering from brain cancer and his immense love for golf. Rickie Fowler, one of the top fifteen PGA players, was Trudel's favorite player and he always dreamt of playing golf with him. Thus, the central idea of the story would be that 'life can be challenging, but sometimes the dreams come true' as, despite the illness, Trudel's dream of playing with his hero gets accomplished when he plays with him for a charity match. Hence, option C is the correct answer.
