Consider two ecosystems that scientists have labelled as ecosystem A and ecosystem B. The scientists have found that both ecosys

tems are home to a roughly equal number of species. However, ecosystem A is dominated by a small number of species that are very abundant. Ecosystem B, by contrast, has a more even abundance of organisms across its species. From this description, ecosystem B is considered _______ ecosystem A. less biodiverse than equally biodiverse as more biodiverse than more valuable than

Answer:

Ecosystem B is considered more diverse than ecosystem A.

Biodiversity refers to the diversity found in organisms living in a particular area. It can be divided into three levels:

  • Species diversity; diversity among species,
  • Genetic diversity; diversity within the organisms of the same species, and
  • Ecological diversity; it represents complex network of interaction (intra or inter-specific) between organisms within a ecosystem.

So, we can conclude that: even if the number of species found in both the ecosystems is equal but better distribution  of organisms across the species makes the ecosystem B more diverse at genetic and ecological level.

PolarNik [594]

In the deep waters of the ocean, coral reefs are found in abundance. Algae live on these coral reefs, providing nutrition and producing pigments that give color to the corals. The corals offer shelter to the algae. So, they share a association. Climate change has led to increased temperatures and has caused the corals to throw away the algae living inside them. This action causes the corals to be bleached because of a lack of pigment. This change will lead to a decrease in the coral growth, reduced fecundity and can cause death of corals.

Which wavelengths of light drive the highest rates of photosynthesis? select the two best answers?
Ilia_Sergeevich [38]
I believe the best answers are 400-450 nm and 670 -680 nm. Photosynthesis is the process in which green plants make their own food by using energy from sunlight in organelles called chloroplasts. Chlorophyll absorb light used in photosynthesis. In this process the sun's energy is converted to chemical energy by the photosynthetic organisms. Absorption spectrum of chlorophyll includes wavelengths of blue and orange-red light, as is indicated by their peaks around 450-475 nm and around 650-675 nm

What happens after pollen lands on the stigma of a flower? it grows a tube to travel down to the ovary.it fertilizes the plant a
VMariaS [17]

Answer: it grows a tube to travel down to the ovary

Explanation:

As a result of pollination, pollen grain lands on the sigma of the pistil or carpel.  On the stigma pollen grain begins to germinate and grows a long pollen tube.  The pollen tube grows longer and makes its way from the stigma, down the style and reaches to the ovary. Pollen tube carries two male gametes or sex cells. One male gamete fertilize the egg cell to produce zygote and the gamete fuses with polar nuclei to form primary endosperm cell.

What would be the percentage of the non-singing trait in female birds in Generations 4 and 5 if this pattern continues?
EleoNora [17]

Answer:

The percentage of the non-singing trait in female birds in Generations 4 and 5 if this pattern continues will be 80 and 94

Explanation:

The percentage of the singing trait in female birds in Generations an 5 if, the pattern continues, is 26 and 18 respectivelyFor the non-singing females, we can see that 8 was added to the first term to get the second term. 10 was added to the second to get the third

For the 4th term, 12 will be added to the third term;

T4 = 68 + 12

T4 = 80

For the 5th term, 14 will be added to the fourth term;

T5 = 80 + 14

T5 = 94

Hence the percentage of the non-singing trait in female birds in Generations 4 and 5 if this pattern continues will be 80 and 94
