Answer;

A) The enzyme weakens chemical bonds in the substrate and catalyzes a change into the product. The enzyme itself remains unchanged.

Explanation;

 • Enzymes are biological catalysts that speed up chemical reactions. Enzymes catalyze or speed up a reaction by binding to a substrate using its active site.
 • The active site of an enzyme is suited to bind a particular substrate, that is why enzymes are known to substrate specific.
 • The binding of the substrate to the enzyme results to changes in the distribution of electrons in the chemical bonds of the substrate and consequently leads to reactions that lead to the formation of products.

Order these steps of the lytic cycle. A. Assembly B. Penetration C. Lysis D. Synthesis E. Adsorption
saul85 [17]

Answer:

The correct order is

E. Adsorption

B. Penetration

D. Synthesis

A. Assembly

C. Lysis

Explanation:

Virus can have two reproduction cycle that is lytic and lysogenic. In the lytic cycle first step is virus adsorption or attachment on the host cell surface. The second step is penetration in which the virus penetrated the host cell and injects its genetic material in the host cell.

The third step is synthesis, in this stage, the viral genome gets incorporated and produces viral proteins required for capsid formation. The fourth step is assembly in which viral protein assembled around viral nucleic and form new viruses.

The final step is lysis where the new viruses lyse the host cell to come out of the host cell and infect other cells.

World class speed skaters can skate a 3,000-m course in about 4 minutes. What is their average speed for this course.
Semenov [28]

A. 12.5 m/s.

The average speed is defined as the relationship between the displacement made by a body and the total time it took to perform it.

The formula that will allow you to calculate the average speed is:

v = d/t, where d is the traveled distance and t the time it took to travel the distance.

We hace to convert 4 minutes to second:

(60 s/1 min)*(4 min) = 240 s

So, the average speed is:

v = 3000 m/240 s

v = 12.5 m/s
