Describe the major effects of the fall of Rome on both eastern and Western Europe
evablogger [386]

The major effects of the fall of Rome on both Eastern and Western Europe were different because only Western Europe was mainly affected by the fall. However, Eastern Europe didn't experience relevant changes since they were protected by the Byzantines.

These were the main changes in Europe:

Western Europe

The main problem was the loss of economic as well as technological progress because there weren't any Roman armies and tax collectors. Moreover, they began being more influenced by Germanic confederations and stopped having a strong influence of the Mediterranean (even though Christianity brought by the Roman empire was still very strong).

Eastern Europe

They didn't have many differences because there was a big part of the Roman Empire that was still under the Byzantine Empire. Consequently, they lived well and had important trade routes and connections to the outside world.
