The roots of a polynomial are the values that render the polynomial to zero
y=(x+4)(x-2)^2(x+7)
in the 1st parenthesis, x=-4 render the polynomial =0
in the 2nd parenthesis, x=2 render the polynomial =0
in the 3rd parenthesis, x=-7 render the polynomial =0
So there are 3 values as roots of this polynomial (answer C)

Gene made a two-digit code. The first digit is odd. How many possible codes can he choose from?
MrRa [10]

Answer:

50

Step-by-step explanation:

Because the first digit can only be odd, there are 5 possible numbers

(1, 3, 5, 7, and 9)

The second digit can be any number because they didn't really say anything about it, meaning there are 10 possibilities (REMEMBER! you can use 0 as the 2nd digit in a number! Just not as the first)

0 -> 9

So, 5 x 10 = 50
