As the name suggests, the greatest common factor of two numbers is the largest number that divides both numbers. So, the first two options are surely wrong: 9 can't be the GCF of 9 and 12 because it doesn't divide 12, and it can't be the GCF of 9 and 30 because it doesn't divide 30.

As for the third option, 18 and 36 are actually both multiples of 9, but 9 isn't the GCF, because both numers are divisible by 18. So, the greatest common factor between 18 and 36 is 18 itself.

So, the answer is the last option, because you have

18 = 9\cdot 2,\quad 27 = 9\cdot 3

So, 9 is actually the greatest common factor between 18 and 27.

For the hypothesis test H0: μ = 10 against H1: μ >10 and variance known, calculate the Pvalue for each of the following test
Basile [38]

Answer:

a) p_v =P(Z>2.05)=1-P(z

b) p_v =P(Z>-1.84)=1-P(z

c) p_v =P(Z>0.4)=1-P(z

Step-by-step explanation:

Some previous concepts

The p-value is the probability of obtaining the observed results of a test, assuming that the null hypothesis is correct.

A z-test for one mean "is a hypothesis test that attempts to make a claim about the population mean(μ)".

The null hypothesis attempts "to show that no variation exists between variables or that a single variable is no different than its mean"

The alternative hypothesis "is the hypothesis used in hypothesis testing that is contrary to the null hypothesis"

Hypothesis

Null hypothesis: \mu=10

Alternative hypothesis: \mu >10

If the random variable is distributed like this: X \sim N(\mu,\sigma)

We assume that the variance is known so the correct test to apply here is the z test to compare means, the statistic is given by the following formula:

z_o=\frac{\bar X -\mu}{\sigma}

Since we have the values for the statistic already calculated we can calculate the p value using the following formulas:

Part a

p_v =P(Z>2.05)=1-P(z

And in order to find the answer using excel we can use the following code:

"=1-NORM.DIST(2.05,0,1,TRUE)"

Part b

p_v =P(Z>-1.84)=1-P(z

And in order to find the answer using excel we can use the following code:

"=1-NORM.DIST(-1.84,0,1,TRUE)"

Part c

p_v =P(Z>0.4)=1-P(z

And in order to find the answer using excel we can use the following code:

"=1-NORM.DIST(0.4,0,1,TRUE)"

Conclusions

If we use a reference value for the significance, let's say \alpha=0.05. For part a the p_v so then we can reject the null hypothesis at this significance level.

For part b the p_v>\alpha so then we FAIL to reject the null hypothesis at this significance level.

For part c the p_v>\alpha so again we FAIL to reject the null hypothesis at this significance level.

_______________________<br> can someone help me solve this question? Thank you.
Zinaida [17]

Answer:

-60

Step-by-step explanation:

Factor the problem out using FOIL.

The end result is: −60x^{2}−84x+9

The value of coefficent a (the number in front of the x^2) is -60.

Describe a real world situation between the area of a rectangle and its width, as the width varies and the length stays the same

Determine both the x and y intercepts. Please help! Will mark brainliest!
Mademuasel [1]

Answer:

y-intercept: (0, 2.5)

x-intercept: (1.67, 0)

Step-by-step explanation:

Right now, you have 3x + 2y = 5. You want to change it into slope-intercept form to make the problem easier to solve.

2y = -3x + 5

y = -3/2x + 5/2

From here, you can see that the y-intercept is (0, 5/2). You can also say that the y-intercept is (0, 2.5).

To get the x-intercept, substitute 0 for y.

0 = -3/2x + 5/2

3/2x = 5/2

3x = 5

x = 5/3

So, the x-intercept is (5/3, 0). You can also say that the x-intercept is (1.67, 0).

Hope this helps!
