Reconquista was a period in history that lasted from 718 to 1492 when battles and wars took place between Christian Kingdoms and the Muslim Moors in order to obtain control over the Iberian Peninsula.

Reconquista's purpose: to free Spain from Muslims rule.

Reconquista's outcome: Isabela and Castile, the ones who financed most of the war, were favored and had Granada under their total influence.

Reconquista's effects: Many Jews died or fled. Only Christians were allowed to stay.

Did the US join the League of Nations following WWI?
uysha [10]

The U.S did not join the League of Nations following WWI. Even the the President of the United States at that time, Woodrow Wilson, was enthusiastic about the organization, they didn't officially join it. The reason why they didn't join it was because of isolationists in congress, in other words, people that didn't agree with what other people are interested in. Because of the war and all of the fatal deaths of Americans, people didn't want the U.S to be affiliated with Europe in any way.

What led to the scramble for Africa?
monitta

Based on my knowledge, the scramble for Africa was largely because the industrial revolution was springing up all over the world in largely European countries and they were at a point where resources were running out. Gold and other valuable metals were discovered in Africa as well as timber. The surplus of resources in Africa made it very valuable to these industrial countries so they all made a huge "scramble" to Africa. Also, the idea of merchantilism, the idea that the amount of land a country owned defined its wealth, was still very popular so these countries wanted to make a huge land grab.
