{NEED HELP ASAP}Question 1 (1 point) Read the text below and answer the questions that follow. Reading and the Brain 1 Did you k

now that some people don't do their reading assignments? It's shocking, but it's true. Some students don't even read short texts that they are assigned in class. However, the benefits of reading are numerous. It is important to read for not just your grades, but also your general wellbeing. 2 Reading stimulates your mind. It is like a workout for your brain. When people get old, their muscles begin to deteriorate. They get weaker and their strength leaves them. Exercise can prevent this loss. The same thing happens to people's brains when they get older. Brain power and speed decline with age. Reading strengthens your brain and prevents these declines. 3 You can benefit from reading in the near-term too. Reading provides knowledge. You can learn to do new things by reading. Do you want to make video games? Do you want to design clothing? Reading can teach you all this and more. But you have to get good at reading, and the only way to get good at something is to practice. 4 Reading has been proven to reduce stress. Statistics show its relaxing effects on the brain are twice as powerful as drinking a cup of decaffeinated tea. People who read are also more likely to give back to the community. While 66% of non-readers donate to charity, a whopping 82% of readers do so. Furthermore, readers are 17% more likely to volunteer their time at a charitable cause. The effects of reading are amazing. 5 Reading is good for your state of mind. It has a calming effect. It can lower your stress levels and help you relax. You can escape from your troubles for a moment when you read, and it's a positive escape. So do yourself a favor: the next time you get a reading assignment, take as much as you can from it. Don’t let life pass you by while everyone else is enjoying the benefits of reading. Instead, squeeze each reading for every drop of knowledge that it contains. Then move on to the next one. ----- Which best expresses the author's main purpose in writing this text? She enjoy eating at two type of restaurants; Italian and Mexican.
LenaWriter [7]

There are a few errors in this sentence.

Here is what it should look like:

She enjoys eating at two types of restaurants, Italian and Mexican.

- the verb enjoy must agree with the subject she

-type must be plural because you are talking about two restaurants in your sentences

- I believe a comma should follow restaurants because there needs to be a pause.

You don't use a semicolon in this case because you are not connecting an independent clause. Independent clauses can stand alone meaning it is a complete thought/complete sentence. In your case Italian and Mexican cannot do cannot stand alone.

**Not only are semicolons used to connect independent clauses they are also used connect a thought meaning if the first part of the sentence is an independent clause but the second part isn't and it continues on talking about the first part of the sentence then you would put a semicolon between the two. For example: Love isn't something you experience; it's something you chose to do even when it is hard to do. (I made this sentence up).

Hopefully this helps and good luck.

The correct answer should be a) Drive more than 500 miles on one tank of gas.

This is because fuel efficiency is a focal point in this answer, while D. deals with fuel efficiency, but that is not the main point of the advertisement.
