When you translate, rotate or reflect a figure how does the image compare to the original figure?

The image is congruent to the original figure. The translation, rotation and reflection operations do not change the size or shape of the figure. It just moves it around in some fashion. Think of it like this: imagine you had a camera and you were aiming it at a triangle. If the triangle holds still, but you move the camera, then the viewer (watching it later) will see the triangle move. In reality, it's the camera moving of course. The triangle does not change its size or shape as the triangle isn't moving at all. This idea can be applied to reflections and rotations as well.

A total of 2 yards of fabric is used to make 5 identical pillows. How much fabric is used for each pillow? Do not include units
Olenka [21]

Answer:

2/5 yards of fabric

Step-by-step explanation:

A total of 2 yards of fabric is used to make 5 identical pillows. How much fabric is used for each pillow?

5 identical pillows = 2 yards of fabric

1 pillow = x yards

Cross Multiply

x yards × 5 pillows = 2 yards × 1 pillow

x yards = 2 yards × 1 pillow/5 pillows

x yards = 2/5 yards of fabric

Therefore, 2/5 yards of fabric was used for 1 pillow
