Jose needs to keep excercising regularly in order to see solid results at the end of the six weeks, however he needs to start overloading his muscles little by little, in order to prepare physically for the three to four hours that a marching band practices lasts.

He should start walking briskly for longer periods of time, starting at 15 minutes, then incrementing 5 minutes each day. He could try adding some weight to the exercise as well. The key element is being consistent and listening to your body.
