Mathematics

Your answer would be 18.39

And here's why:

Behind the decimal your numbers are in the following places.

The (3) is in the tenths place.
The (8) is in the hundredths place.
And the (6) is in the thousandths place.

Whatever number is AFTER the place your rounding, is going to help you out.

If the number is 1-4, you round down.
If the number is 5-9, you round up.

Hope this helps! (:

A rectangle has a perimeter of 30 feet and an area of 50 square feet. What are the dimensions of the rectangle.
KiRa [710]

I believe the shorter sides are 5 feet and the longer ones are 10. This is because when you add up the two shorter sides as 10, and the other two as 20, then add them up to 30. That's the perimeter. For the area, you would do 10•5 to get 50 for the area

X + y = 152,<br><br> 8.5x + 12y = 1,656<br><br> How many hats were sold?
Elodia [21]

Answer:

x = 48 and y = 104

Step-by-step explanation:

Given equations are:

x+y = 152\\8.5x+12y=1656

From equation 1:

x = 152-y

Putting the value of y in equation 2

8.5(152-y)+12y = 1656\\1292-8.5y+12y = 1656\\3.5y+1292 = 1656\\3.5y = 1656-1292\\3.5y = 364\\\frac{3.5y}{3.5} = \frac{364}{3.5}\\y = 104

Now we have to put the value of y in one of the equation to find the value of x

Putting y = 104 in the first equation

x+y = 152\\x+ 104 = 152\\x = 152-104\\x = 48

Hence,

The solution of the system of equations is x = 48 and y = 104

The value of variable which was assumed for number of hats, is the total number of hats.

A playstation 5 is $900 and costs $50 per game. A xbox is $400 and costs $60 per game. How many games will it take for both cons
belka [17]

Answer:

It would take a PlayStation 5 and 2 games to equal an Xbox and 10 games.

Step-by-step explanation:

I made a list that increase in the increments of the game price.

Something like this:

900—400~consoles alone

950—460~1 game

1000–520~2 games

1050—580~3 games

1100—640~4 games

1150—700~5 games

1200—760~6 games

1250—820~7 games

1300—880~8 games

1350—940~9 games

1400—1000~10 games

Left side is PlayStation 5 and right side is Xbox. The first row is the price of the consoles alone and then each row after that is the price of the console with an additional game. As you can see, the third row down on the left, the PlayStation 5 with 2 games is $1,000. If you look at the eleventh row on the right, you can see that Xbox with 10 games is also $1,000
