The rising action of Antigone is Antigone's decision to defy Creon's orders and bury her brother.

Antigone is a brave warrior and fighter. She was not afraid of defying her uncle’s order and buried her brother and fulfills her responsibilities towards her brother. By burying her brothers, she proved that she is a fearless fighter and doesn’t care about any bad consequences.
She has bravely fought for her brothers and buried them with respect and care. This was the most prominent decision of her life and the turning point of her life too. We can say this was the rising action of Antigone because she rises high in herself and in people’s eyes.
My reaction to this quote is that Abraham Lincoln is referring to the ideal that once people have power they tend to abuse it for their advantage, and personal gain. For Example, gerrymandering. Gerrymandering is the manipulation of the county sizing and grouping in states by the Legislative branch to guarantee their reelection into federal or state offices. A typically Democratic city perhaps may be grouped or redrawn to conjoin with a vastly Republican populated area, creating a larger group of supporters of one party, and a polarized county.
Oppression and domination are often concealed and this could be considered as a novel common situation. This is my paraphrase and it could mean for example that in modern society where the individual has a lot of freedom as mentioned by Erich Fromm that this situation can lead to isolation and being alienated from the big enterprises in which many people work and where the individual feels like just a small cog in a big wheel.
