For an instance, n represents the number
The equation model will be
\dfrac{n+5}{3}=7

Solve the equation

\dfrac{n+5}{3}=7
move 3 to the right side, division by 3 will be multiplication by 3 after being moved to the right side
n+5 = 7 \times 3
n + 5 = 21
move 5 to the right side, addition by 5 will be substraction by 5 after being moved to the right side
n = 21 - 5
n = 16

The number described is 16

You have to work backwards and oppositely for this question.
so you would start to find your answer by starting with 7 and multiplying by 3 because opposite of division is multiplication. then you would multiply by 5 because it says it was divided. next, you subtract five because the opposite of increasing is decreasing. i hope this made sense so the equation you’re looking for would look like this.

16+5= 21
21/3= 7

vovikov84 [41]

Answer:

Are you trying to solve for x?

x= 13

just kick the 3 to the other side, so a negative 3 would become a positive 3:

x= 10 + 3

x= 13

You can also use cymath it gives you the answer and explanation.

Factor 2x2 + 7x + 3.
(2x + 2)(x + 1)
(2x + 3)(x + 1) (2x + 1)(x + 3)
maks197457 [2]

Answer:

(2x + 1)(x + 3)

Step-by-step explanation:

It is probably easier to try the answer choices than to try to factor the expression yourself.

(2x + 2)(x + 1) = 2x² +4x +2

(2x + 3)(x + 1) = 2x² +5x +3

(2x + 1)(x + 3) = 2x² +7x +3 . . . . . correct choice

_____

Constructed solution

If you want to factor this yourself, you can look for factors of "ac" that add to give "b". That is, you want factors of 2·3 = 6 that add up to give 7. You don't have to look very far.

... 6 = 1·6 = 2·3 . . . . . . the first factor pair adds to give 7

Now, rewrite the x term using the sum of these numbers.

... 2x² +(1 +6)x +3

... 2x +x +6x +3 . . . . eliminate parentheses

... (2x +x) +(6x +3) . . . . group pairs of terms

... x(2x +1) +3(2x +1) . . . . factor each pair

... (x +3)(2x +1) . . . . . . matches the last selection
