Why was the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) formed? Ato increase oil prices by controlling global supply to
Ber [7]

Answer: To increase oil prices by controlling global supply

Explanation:

The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) was formed when some oil producing countries decided that it would be best to form a cartel that would dictate the supply of oil and in effect the price as well.

By forming a cartel, they would have more control over what price to charge other nations which would allow for more revenue to come into these countries. OPEC also uses its influence to impart global issues as they once refused to sell oil to western nations unless those nations criticized and restricted support for Israel.

How did the Kansas Nebraska act push Texas to secession? please help answer in a complete sentence
dolphi86 [110]

Answer:

Texas shared the position of other slave states regarding the future of new territories  and new states. It wanted the expansion of slavery.  Southern states advocated a popular sovereignty solution, that is, new states to be admitted to the Union should choose by themselves. The 1854 Kansas-Nebraska Act was a political compromise. Nevertheless, Texas had important objections. In a speech in the Senate delivered on February 15, 1854, Texan leader Sam Houston lists two important obstacles: Nebraska had a too small population in order to sustain organization , and Kansas was a land with very few white settlers and entirely occupied by Native tribes.
