Hannah is at the supermarket to buy carrots and potatoes. If she buys 2 pounds of carrots and 3 pounds of potatoes, it will cost
larisa86 [58]

Answer:

Potato price = $1.5 / pound ; Carrot price = $1.75 / pound

Step-by-step explanation:

Let price of carrot per pound = c

Let price of potatoes per pound = p

Given :

2c + 3p  = 8   (eqtn A)

4c + 4p = 13 (eqtn B)

Multiplying eqtn A by 2 ;

4c + 6p = 16

4c = 16 - 6p (eqtn Y)

By eqtn B ;

4c = 13 - 4p (eqtn Z)

By eqtn Y & Z ;

16 - 6p = 13 - 4p

16 - 13 = - 4p + 6p

3 = 2p

p = 3 /2

p = 1.5 [Potato price]

Putting p value in eqtn A

2c + 3 (1.5) = 8

2c + 4.5 = 8

2c = 8 - 4.5

2c = 3.5

c = 3.5 / 2

c = 1.75 [Carrot Price]

Which equation represents the graph below
andreyandreev [35.5K]

Answer: b. -2x+3y=12

Step-by-step explanation: the y intercept is 4, and the line intercepts the x- axis at -6. Therefore, the slope of the line is 4/6=2/3. The format for a linear equation is y=(slope)x+y intercept. So the equation would be y=2/3x+4. You can see that answer b simplifies to that. Add 2x from both sides of the equation and you get 3y=2x+12. Divide both sides of the equation by 3 and you get y=2/3x+4

For the function f(x)=3xsquared- 2x+5 find f(1) f(-2) and f(a)
Oksanka [162]
f(x)=3x^2-2x+5\\\\
f(1):\ \ Substitude\ 1 \ as\ x\ into\ function:\\
f(1)=3*1^2-2*1+5=3-2+5=\textbf{6}\\\\
f(-2)\ \ Substitude\ x=-2\\
f(-2)=3*(-2)^2-2*(-2)+5=3*4+4+5=12+4+5=\textbf{21}\\\\
f(a)\ \ substitude\ x=a\\
f(a)=\underline{3a^2-2a+5}
