Which of the following statements is an important consequence of the first law of thermodynamics for a living organism? The ener

gy content of an organism is constant. Organisms grow by converting energy into organic matter. An organism ultimately must obtain all of the necessary energy for life from its environment. The entropy of an organism decreases with time as the organism grows in complexity.

Answer:

An organism ultimately must obtain all of the necessary energy for life from its environment.

Explanation:

The First Law of Thermodynamics is also known as the law of conservation of energy. This law states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed, it only can change its form. The energy in a closed system remains constant.

All the organisms require energy to perform their life processes. The ultimate source of energy is the sun.  The energy is supplied by the sun is used by green plants to synthesise food (glucose), chemical energy. Thus, light energy is converted to chemical energy. The chemical energy is transferred to animals through food chains.

Transpiration is the evaporation process used by plants for cooling and to regulate the amount of water within its body. Factors
Stella [2.4K]

Answer:

Transpiration is the process of water movement in the plant in which water is released from the leaves to the environment in the form of vapours.

The transpiration is important to the plant as:

1. Cooling Effect: Transpiration help lower down the temperature of the plant by evaporating water.

2. The ascent of Sap: leads to the uptake of water in the plant.

3.  Removal of Excess Water: removes extra water from the plant.

4. Maintain turgidity: helps maintain turgidity which leads to maintains shape and structure.

5. Photosynthesis: supplies water for the photosynthesis.

The process also has disadvantages to the plants as:

1.  Wilting: the excess loss of water causes wilting of leaves during noon.

2. Reduced Yield: the wilting reduces the formation of fruits, flowers and seeds.

3. Wastage of Energy: Loss of water leads to the waste of energy which is used in the conduction of water and absorption.

The climate change has changed the ability of the plants to undergo transpiration and plants has adapted to maintain equilibrium by producing hair, thorns, thick cuticle, sunken stomata, cladodes and phylloclades.

Mendel wanted to find out if the pattern of inheritance for one trait affected the pattern of inheritance for another.what exper
balu736 [363]
He used  Pea plants to help him find the laws of inheritance. He crossed homozygous (AA) tall plants with short (aa) plants and found that all of the off spring were tall, due to the fact that tall is dominant and short is recessive. He then conducted another experiment where all the offspring mated (all offspring were heterozygous (Aa)) And produced the F1 generation and 25 percent of the plants were short (use a punnet square to see why) and 75 percent were tall.

I hope this response helped :) If u have anymore q about mendelian genetics pls lmk !
