Because 90,000 Italian citizens live there.  If the city of Pisa did not exist, none of them would have a home to go home to, and every single one of them would quickly become a burden on everybody in the rest of the country.

The city of Pisa was at the beginning a simple but important Italian seaport. With its growth, so did its religious buildings. Its fame and power grew gradually over the years, as the people of Pisa were involved in various military conflicts and trade agreements.

How did the Incas best influence modern day farming methods?
Lena [83]

The correct answer is - carving terraced farmlands.

The Incas revolutionized the agriculture in South America by starting to use the carved terraces for production. With this technique, the Incas managed to maximize the arable land area, and to perform farming on places where naturally will be impossible. This method is widely used nowadays, and since the amount of arable land is reducing in the lowlands, it is of great benefit for food production in places that are not suitable for building.
