Why did Britain change its strategy to focus on the Southern colonies in the summer of 1778?

History

Answer:

The French allied with the colonials, and the British believe they had supporters in the south.

Explanation:

The French signed a treaty with the colonials in 1778 which forced the British to rethink their tactics.  They were now having to fight both the newly formed Americans and the French.  The British falsely believed they had more colonial supporters in the south, so began to focus their efforts there in attempt to subvert the French involvement.

Answer

First, the war, which had primarily been fought north of Pennsylvania previously, had essentially become a stalemate by that time. While seldom losing battles, the British had failed to destroy the Continental Army in the field.

Second, British military leaders believed that the southern colonies were full of Loyalists who would flock to the king's standard once British troops showed up.

1. What is one way the Eastern Front was different from the Western Front? (1 point)
Maurinko [17]

The Eastern Front was much more terrible, for example, every German officer who would violate discipline in any way, one of the sentences was going to the Eastern Front. In addition, much more human casualties were on the Eastern Front, the way of fighting differed due to the nature of the relief. While the Western Front was mainly taking place in the territory of France and Belgium, although not just there with the trench warfare, the Eastern Front line spanned over a thousand miles, more precisely from the Baltic Sea in the north, to the Black Sea in the south, and extended to parts of the Central Europe, so that the trench warfare was unimaginable.

In what ways did the Crusades affect Jerusalem?<br>marks)?
Mandarinka [93]

The Crusades were a type of religious war in which Christians attempted to conquer the Holy Land. This region had long been dominated by Muslims.

The most successful of these Crusades was the first one, which resulted in the conquest of Jerusalem. Jerusalem was conquered after a siege which lasted from June 7 to July 15, 1099. After the siege, the Crusaders took the city. This led to several changes in Jerusalem. First, the conquest led to a widespread killing of Jews and Muslims, as the Crusaders attempted to kill every single inhabitant of the city. It also led to the establishment of the Kingdom of Jerusalem, which became the center from which Crusaders managed their holdings in the Holy Land. Jerusalem remained in the hands of Christians until 1187, after the Battle of Hattin.
