There were lot of clashes and conflicts, based on religion, ethnicity, politics, and that was also used by the terrorist organization IRA which was very active and killed and injured lot of people. In 1998 though, this finally came to an end, and the political parties from Northern Ireland and Britain as to how Northern Ireland should be governed and to eliminate the tensions. This agreement is known as the Belfast Agreement, also referred to as the Good Friday Agreement. This agreement also resulted in decline and eventual dismembering of IRA as well.
