The parametric segment between F and H is

P(t) = (1-t)F + tH

P(0)=F, P(1)=H.

We want P such that FP:PH=5:2

That corresponds to t = \dfrac{5}{5+2} = \dfrac 5 7

P(\frac 5 7) = \frac 2 7 F + \frac 5 7 H = \left( \dfrac{ 2(-1)+5(-8)}{7}, \dfrac{ 2(-1)+5(20)}{7} \right) = (-42/7, 98/7) = (-6, 14)

Answer: (-6, 14)

Plot (-1,-1), (-6,14), (-8,20)

Choose all of the transformations that would change a triangle into one that is similar, but not congruent. Which transformation
Vsevolod [243]

You didn't supply a list.  The so-called rigid transformations of translation, rotation and reflection create congruent triangles.

Generally it's dilation by a factor about a point is preserves similarity but not congruency.  Any transformation which includes such scalings but is otherwise rigid also preserves similarity but not congruency.

The lines of symmetry in a regular polygon are equal to the number of sides minus 2. True or False
galina1969 [7]

Answer:

False

Step-by-step explanation:

A regular polygon may be defined as the polygon that have sides of equal length known as equilateral and angles made up of equal angles, known as equiangular.

The $\text{number of lines}$ of symmetry in a regular polygon is always equal to the number of sides of the polygon. For example, a regular pentagon have 5 sides, so the lines of symmetry of the regular pentagon is also 5, a square having 4 sides also has 4 lines of symmetry.

0.5,0.05,5/8 from least to greatest
timurjin [86]
0.5 is also 0.50 so it is greater than 0.05 and 5/8 is greater than 0.5 because it's more than half for example 4/8=0.5 and 5/8 is 0.62 so it is 0.05,0.5,5/8
