Vladimir [108]
One evolutionary explanation for why lizards living in the same part of the habitat would have similar characteristics is adaptation. It is a function or structure that is very common in lizards and other animals. If the lizards are leaving in a same part of habitat they will have the same characteristics which they will adapt coming from the same habitat.

The reabsorption of neurotransmitters by a terminal button is called:
valentina_108 [34]
The answer to this question would be reuptake

Reuptake is a reabsorption of the neurotransmitters that had been released. Reuptake is important because if the neurotransmitter isn't removed, they can repeatedly induce a signal.
Some drug works by inhibiting this reuptake mechanism like serotonin reuptake inhibitor. By doing this, the drug will increase the number of the neurotransmitter since it won't reabsorbed.

Which of the following is true in regards to the cell membrane?
iris [78.8K]

Answer:

It is also referred to as the phospholipid bilayer or the plasma membrane, It helps cells maintain homeostasis, It is selectively permeable; that is allows some substances through but not others

Explanation:

a. I don't know how to explain other names for the cell membrane but they are it, as the cell membrane is a bilayer composed of phopholipids and it is also called a plasma membrane

b. The cell membrane has many structures on it that facilitate nutrient transport in and out of the cell (ex: protein pump). nutrients of higher concentrations would like to move through lower concentrations, and it achieves this by moving across the cell membrane in or out of the cell, maintaining homeostasis

c. Some substances such as NaOH use pumps on the cell to move in or out of it, it can't get in or out without using pumps since they are so big, so the cell can choose when the cell wants it's nutrients or if it dosen't
