2. What are Haimon's arguments that he presents to tell Creon he's making a mistake about his judgment of Antigone?
Ulleksa [173]

Answer:

To show that Creon was not right about his judgment of Antigone, Haimon told the story of a captain who was wrong even when he was doing the right thing.

Explanation:

Haimon did not agree with Creon's judgment on Antigone, although Creon was sure he was correct. For this reason Haimon cited a story as a wise and delicate argument to get Creon to reflect on his actions and thoughts about Antigone.

Haimon quoted the story about a captain who left the sails and stretched, because he knew this was the right thing to do and was sure he was doing good to his ship and his crew. However, the ship was tipped over by the wind and the sea, showing that the captain's certainty about the sails was incorrect in preventing the ship from tipping over. With that, Haimon is telling Creon that everyone can make mistakes inside things he believes are correct, so he should reassess the judgment that Antigone was receiving.

What is the effect when Theseus volunteers?
MrRa [10]

Answer:

Theseus sets himself up to battle the Minotaur.

Explanation:

This excerpt refers to a story "Cruel Tribute" from James Baldwin's collection of stories based on Greek mythology.

Basically, story goes as this; King of Crete's son was killed by Athenians. Now the King faced them with a choice: either he will destroy the Athens or Athenians will send him 7 men and 7 women each year as a tribute to Minotaur, a monster that lives in a labyrinth in Crete.

After many years, Theseus grew up and volunteered to sail to Crete as one of the 7 men with the goal to kill the beast and end this cruel tradition.

Examples if imagery in john muir's essay calypso borealis
Cloud [144]
I haven't read this essay but imagery is quite easy to find. Imagery is usually exposed by finding explanatory words or words that make is easier to imagine the event in a story. For example, "The sun was shining a fierce red. It was a fire blazing through the sky." Sorry if I can't give you an exact answer but atleast you know what to look for. I hope this helped you.
