Probability is the chance (the likelihood) that certain event will happen.

In our case the events are:

1. one of the diners orders fish

2. one of the diners is wearing dress

The or in the question means that we should sum the probabilities of the two events in order to get the asked probability.

The probability is a numerical value between the number 0 and 1.

probability of event happening = number of ways it can happen / total number of outcomes.

1. The probability that one of the diners orders fish = number of diners who ordered fish / total number of diners

p1=45/100=0.45

2. The probability that one of the diners is wearing dress= number of diners wearing dress/ total number of diners

3.     p2=14/100=0.14

The probability that one of the diners ordered the fish or is wearing a dress is: p=0.45+0.14=0.59

Can I please get some help with this
egoroff_w [7]
Hello!

in your math problem shown, the variable “x” can be any number. if you plug in those numbers, you will get an answer that would be the variable for y.

for example, if you took “1” for x, then the answer would be “1” for y. another example, if you took “-1” for x, then the answer would be “-5”.

hope this helps! :)

The ordered pair (0,4) is a solution of which system?
hichkok12 [17]

Answer:

(c) y>=4

y<x+5

Step-by-step explanation:

The ordered pair (0,4) is a solution

We check with each inequality, and find which inequalities makes it true

(a) y<=4

y>=x+5

Lets plug in x=0 and y=4

4<=4  its true

4 >=0+5  ---> 4>=5   its false

Both inequalities does not satisfies

(b) y<4

y<x+5

Lets plug in x=0 and y=4

4<4  its false

4 <0+5  ---> 4<5   its true

Both inequalities does not satisfies

(c) y>=4

y<x+5

Lets plug in x=0 and y=4

4>=4  its true

4 <0+5  ---> 4<5   its True

Both inequalities   satisfies
