Offspring produced by parents that differ in one or more traits are called

Biology
1 answer:
sdas [7]3 years ago
4 0

Answer:

Hybrid

Explanation:

Two parents belonging to a species and having more than one varying traits are referred to as hybrids. For example –

Let us suppose that two human beings vary in two different traits. One trait is skin color and the other trait is height.

Let the allele for tall height be “T” and the allele for shot height be “t”

Similarly, let the allele for fair color be “F” and the allele for dark color be “f”

Then the genotype of a true-breeding tall and fair person A would be TTFF

And the genotype of a true-breeding short and dark person B would be ttff

Since both the person A and B have two different traits, therefore they can be referred to as dihybrid

How could genetic drift explain differences in the genotype frequencies among the caucasian and aborigine populations?
Novay_Z [31]

Genetic drift occurs when there is no random mating across a population. This causes a change in allelic frequency due to a random sampling of the population.

As the aboriginal population explored the earth, a small part of the population became geographically isolated either due to continental drift and climate changes. As the isolated population grew bigger, they established their own gene pool. This resulted a change in genotypic frequencies from that of the aboriginal population.

How do I Construct a table to compare the products and reactants in photosynthesis and cellular respiration
katen-ka-za [31]

Explanation:

Create the column headings "Reactants" and "Products". The two row headings should be "Photosynthesis" and "Cellular respiration".

Before filling in the table, make sure you know what the products and reactants from photosynthesis and cellular respiration are.

Remember reactants are the 'before' on the left, and products are the 'after' on the right.

Photosynthesis:

CO_{2} + H_{2}O+light =>O_{2}+C_{6}H_{12}O_{6}

Cellular Respiration:

O_{2}+C_{6}H_{12}O_{6}=>CO_{2} + H_{2}O+ATP

See attachment for how the table could look.

1. Describe what a growth factor is and
how it influences the cell cycle.
igomit [66]

Growth factors are hormones, proteins, or steroid molecules that regulate many cellular functions. They can stimulate the cell division by giving the signal to the cell to progress in the cell cycle.

Explanation:

Growth factors are naturally produced within the body and travels through the body to bind to their receptors present on their target cells. These growth factors are capable of signalling the cell to divide, proliferate, or heel. Their main aim is to signal or tell other cell when to do and what to do. Due to the binding with the receptors the growth factors activates specific genes.
