It is clear that the stage directions as the play opens present us with the way in which society oppresses humans and acts as a conformist power, making it very hard to hold onto dreams and to break free from its grasp. Note the way that Williams introduces the overall scene:

The Wingfield apparment is in the rear of the building, one of those vast hive-like conglomerations of cellular living-units that flower at warty growths in overcrowded urban centres of lower middle-class population and are symptomatic of the impulse of this largest and fundamentally enslaved section of American society to avoid fluidity and differentiation and to exist and function as one inerfused mass of automatism.

The setting is shown to deliberately inhibit individuality, preventing "fluidity and differentation," and to promote conformism in the "enslaved" people that live in this section of American society. In addition, let us add to this description the author's comment on the fire escape, whose name has a "touch of accidental poetic truth" in the way that all of the buildings like the one that the Wingfield's live in burn "with the slow and implacable fires of human desperation." It is clear, therefore, that issues such as individuality, dreams and the struggles that humans face to try and achieve them and the barriers that try and prevent them from bucking the trend and escaping the enforced conformity of this world are going to be big themes as the play opens and we are presented with a desperate world with desperate characters inhabiting it.

(c)must/need not

(d)need not/must

Answer:

C, must/need not

Because Blaine Blogger reviews movies on his blog, movie theaters allow him in for free. Nellie Newspaper Reporter also gets free admission to movies. Blaine must disclose on his blog that he receives free tickets. Nellie need not disclose in her articles that she receives free tickets.

The modals must and need not have the same form regardless the subject. There is no ending with he/she/it.

If you want to say the something. is unnecessary, use need not, not must not. (The negation of must means not allowed to.)

Needn't is very different from mustn't. It is used to say that you do not have to do something, it is not necessary to do something.

Which sculpture combines two-dimensional and three-dimensional techniques?
AURORKA [14]

The sculpture combines two-dimensional and three-dimensional techniques is "Madonna of the Clouds- by Donatello".

Answer: Option D

Explanation:

Relief sculpture combines many characteristics of two-dimensional pictorial arts with three-dimensional sculptural arts therefore categorized as a complex art form. Such sculpture is dependent on a supporting surface, and in order to be visible its composition must be extended into a plane.

Therefore beautiful example of relief sculpture is "Madonna of the Clouds- by Donatello". In 1425, during the Italian Renaissance, Donatello carved small marble relief donated by Quincy Adams Shaw to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Madonna of the Clouds depicts an image of Jesus, the Virgin Mary and her baby . Donatello showcased a Madonna of Humility, where he structured Mary and Jesus in floating bed of clouds in heaven.
