A viewpoint is another term for point of view it being an attitude, state of mind, or position on a certain topic. In writing, it expresses the feelings of the character as well as the narrated view the story should be read in. An author should make sure to maintain a focused POV throughout the story whether it be first person, second person, third person limited, or third person omniscient, keeping in mind the pronouns used.
