Trade Barriers are usually established by governments for several reasons. The main among them being to protect and promote domestic industries or trade from foreing competition. Thus, a government is o promoting the economy growth inside the country.

Trade Barriers are imposed by nations, to restrict free flow of goods and services between countries.

Other possible reasons may be to prevent loss of unemployment which could occur due to loss of manufacturing in the country and for the purpose of National security.
