(1) Homework has more negative effects on children and teenagers than positive effects. (2) Hours of schoolwork after the school

day is over intrude on students’ family lives, cause unnecessary stress, and take away from time participating in other enriching activities. (3) In addition, studies show that for children below high-school age, there is no relationship between homework and how a student performs on a test, and for high-school students, the relationship is nearly insignificant. (4) Although homework might not have a major effect on test scores, some say that it teaches students other important life lessons. (5) However, no conclusive study has shown that homework improves students’ self-discipline, time-management skills, or sense of independence. (6) Therefore, schools should seriously reconsider revising homework guidelines, and teachers should only assign homework when it is truly necessary. Answer

DingDongHong is correct. The right answer is C) sentence 5.

Explanation:

The question asks for the sentence that is a rebuttal. If you choose sentence 4, that is the counterclaim, and will be the wrong answer. I just took the test on edge2020 and got 100%.

Answer:

Sentence 5.

I just took quiz on Edg and sentence 4 is WRONG.

And if you actually read the question, "Which sentence contains a rebuttal to the counterclaim in the paragraph?"

it's not asking for the <em>counterclaim</em>, but the <em>rebuttal </em>to the counterclaim. Although the counterclaim is found in sentence 4, the rebuttal is found in <u><em>sentence 5.</em></u>

Which sentence uses a relative clause that is correctly placed and punctuated?
SVETLANKA909090 [29]

Answer:

The correct answer is The man who sat beside me at lunch, speaks French.

Explanation:

Relative clauses are sentences with<u> relative pronouns</u> (who, which, whose, that) used to define and identify a thing or person that <u>has already been mentioned before and we want to add more information. </u>

To understand <u>whether it is necessary to add a comma or not</u>, you must ask yourself if the information you are adding is <u>extra or necessary</u>.

In this case, <em>"The man who sat beside me at lunch, speaks French."</em> The fact that he speaks French <u>is not relevant</u> with respect to the person to whom "<em>who</em>" is referring.

A necessary information would be <em>“sat beside me at lunch”</em>, since without that information it could be talking about any man.

Anybody have time helping me with an assignment?
Vlad [161]

Answer:

Look below

Explanation:

A cat, a stinky one, finds their merry way to the local neighborhood dumpster. This dumpster has had its history, a long history, but even then will this cat's deviancy not taint it any worse than what has already happened there. Hobos of all stenches have made and destroyed their conflicts there, rats and possums constantly skim hairs as they pat their paths through the puddles of lost origin; this was not a place to stay, very long if you had a good nose. Though the caution had read clear to this stinking cat, its brave heart wore its odor like a shield as they made this place their home.
