No I do not agree with this. Within a minute approximately 9 crimes are committed. Allowing someone who is guilty to go free will only increase that amount; in addition, if they could get away with it once they will likely try to get away with it again. Meaning the more often a guilty suspect is released the more likely they are to commit the crime again. Although sending an innocent man to jail seems rather grim, if the crimes were to continue to happen they could be cleared of suspicions. Therefore, convicting an innocent man/woman would be better than unknowingly releasing a criminal from jail.

b) Adjusting Entry to record bad debt expense:

Debit Bad Debt Expense $1,700

Credit Allowance for Doubtful Accounts $1,700

To record the bad debt expense for the period and bring the allowance to $4,300 credit balance.

Explanation:

a) Data and Calculations:

Aging of receivables analysis:

Total (days)                          0        1 to 30     31 to 60     61 to 90     above 90

Accounts receivable $171,000   $96,000   $34,000     $15,000     $12,000

Percent uncollectible                      1%            4%                 6%            9%

Allowance for doubtful     0          $960        $1,360         $900        $1,080

Total allowance for doubtful = $4,300 (960 + 1,360 + 900 + 1,080)

b) The adjustment in the Allowance for Doubtful Accounts needed for the current period is $1,700 ($4,300 - $2,600).  This amount will be debited to the Bad Debts Expense account and credited to the Allowance for Doubtful Accounts.  It will bring the total for the Allowance for Doubtful Accounts to $4,300 from $2,600.

The economy begins in equilibrium at Point E, representing the real interest rate, r1, at which saving, S1, equals desired inves
fiasKO [112]

Answer:

reduction in investment, savings and interest rate

Explanation:

A change in factors other than the interest rate causes a shift in the investment demand curve also known as IS curve. The change in tax law which reduces the demand for investment goods will cause the IS curve to shift left from IS1 to IS2 this will shift the equilibrium from E to E1.  This will reduce the real interest rate from R1 to R2. A decrease in interest rate will also decrease the saving from S1 to S2 and Investment is already reduced from I1 to I2.

                                    East          Central        West          Total

Sales                   $412,000  $670,000   $520,000 $1,602,000

Variable exp.         181,280     207,700      166,400      555,380

Contribution

          margin    $230,720    462,300    353,600    1,046,620

Fixed expenses  290,000    332,000     191,000       813,000

Non-Traceable

    Fixed Expenses                                                       338,000

Net operating Income

  (loss)               ($59,280)  $130,300  $162,600   ($104,380)

2b. How much Company's Net Operating Income Increase (Decrease) with the implementation of the above Proposal:

Net operating income before advert = $162,600

Division's net operating income after advert = $160,366

Therefore, the company's net operating loss will increase by $2,234

Explanation:

a) Wingate Company's recent monthly contribution format Income Statement:

Sales                                    $ 1,602,000

Variable expenses                    555,380

Contribution margin               1,046,620

Fixed expenses                        1,151,000

Net operating income (loss) $ (104,380)

b) Division West's Income Statement:

Sales                                 $582,400 ($520,000 x 1.12)

Variable expenses             203,034  ($181,280 x 1.12)

Contribution margin        $379,366

Fixed Expenses                 219,000 ($191,000 + 28,000)

Net Operating Income    $160,366

c) If sales value increases by 12%, the variable expenses will increase proportionately, unless there is an increase in the price, which will ultimately reduce demand, further depressing the sales value.  This is why it is called Variable Cost.  Therefore, a different result will be obtainable if the variable expenses are held constant, contrary to its behavior.

Which of the following is a disadvantage of outsourcing?
Sonbull [250]

Answer:

b. It reduces productivity and revenue growth.

Explanation:

The disadvantage of outsourcing is that it reduces productivity and revenue growth. Due to outsourcing, the company ceases to produce a product in its own facility and gives the entire production responsibility to third party. This is because the company might not have the capability to produce on its own or it might be costly for the company.

Since the company has to give production cost, over runs, labour cost etc along with margins to the third party, hence there is a decrease in revenue growth and productivity of the company.
