The second Industrial Revolution is based on the thesis that industrialization is just one part of a larger process. This process entails modernization during which the culture changes its values, order and even government, which in turn promotes further change. Similar arguments in favor of the Second Industrial Revolution might be found in David Landes´ "The Unbound Prometheus".
