The formula for the surface area of a cylinder is A=<span><span><span><span>2π</span>r</span>h</span>+<span><span>2π</span>r</span></span>²<span>.

</span>A=2πrh+2πr²
  =2(3.14)(3)(4) + 2(3.14)(3)²
<span>  =6.28*3*4 + 6.28*9
  =75.36+56.52
  =131.88
The surface area of the cylinder is 131.88 in.</span>²
<span>
As for the triangular prism, the formula is </span><span>SA = wh + lw + lh + ls
</span><span>w=width (2.7)
h=height (1.1)
l=length (4.2)
s=side

Since you don't know the side (which is the hypotenuse of the right triangle, use the Pythagorea formula a</span>² + b² = c²

2.7² + 1.1² = c²(side)
7.29+1.21=8.5
The side is 8.5cm.
Now plug w, h, l, and s into <span>SA = wh + lw + lh + ls
</span>
SA= (2.7*1.1)+(4.2*2.7)+(4.2*1.1)+(4.2*8.5)
SA= 2.97+11.34+4.62+35.7
SA=54.63
The surface area of the triangular prism is 54.63cm².

I hope I helped

Two quadratic functions are represented below.
Tpy6a [65]
To determine the maximum value of a quadratic function opening downwards, we are going to find the vertex; then the y-value of the vertex will be our maximum.
To find the vertex (h,k) (where h=x-coordinate and k=y-coordinate) of a quadratic function of the form f(x)=a x^{2} +bx+c we'll use the vertex formula: h= \frac{-b}{2a}, and then we are going to replace that value in our original function to find k.

So, in our function f(x)=- x^{2} +4x-3, a=-1 and b=4.
Lets replace those values in our vertex formula:
h= \frac{-4}{2(-1)}
h= \frac{-4}{-2}
h=2

Now that we know the x-coordinate of our vertex, lets replace it in the original function, to get the y-coordinate:
h=f(2)=-(2^{2} )+4(2)-3
h=-4+8-3
h=1

We just prove that the vertex of f(x) is (2,1), and for the graph we can tell that the vertex of g(x) is (-2,4). The only thing left is compare their y-coordinates to determine w<span>hich one has the greater maximum value. Since 4>1, we can conclude that </span>g(x) has the greater maximum.
