At a continent-continent convergence, -

Biology

xenn [34]3 years ago

Answer:

At continent -continent convergence, folded mountains are produced.

Explanation:

  • Continental crusts are floating and do not subduct.
  • If in this case two continental plates collide with each other, they smash and raise the land to create mountains.
  • These mountains which are created are fold mountains. e.g the Himalayas, the Appalachian mountains etc.
  • Sometimes continental convergence cause massive earth quakes.
  • Since the continental crust is quite thick it is far away from mantle and hence magma cannot come to the surface . Thus, no volcanoes are formed.

What part of the scientific method do you decide if your hypothesis was right?
Harrizon [31]

Answer:

OBSERVATION is first step, so that you know how you want to go about your research. HYPOTHESIS is the answer you think you'll find. PREDICTION is your specific belief about the scientific idea: If my hypothesis is true, then I predict we will discover this. CONCLUSION is the answer that the experiment gives.

The scientific method is an empirical method of acquiring knowledge that has characterized the development of science since at least the 17th century (with notable practitioners in previous centuries). It involves careful observation, applying rigorous skepticism about what is observed, given that cognitive assumptions can distort how one interprets the observation. It involves formulating hypotheses, via induction, based on such observations; experimental and measurement-based testing of deductions drawn from the hypotheses; and refinement (or elimination) of the hypotheses based on the experimental findings. These are principles of the scientific method, as distinguished from a definitive series of steps applicable to all scientific enterprises.

1 Make an observation.

2 Ask a question.

3 Propose a hypothesis.

4 Make predictions.

5 Test the predictions.

6 Iterate.

Which of the following statements best supports the claim that organisms share fundamental processes as a result of evolution? (
podryga [215]

Answer:

C

Explanation:

All living organisms' cell are composed of genetic material in form of DNA. The DNA encodes the information needed for the production of useful products (proteins). The way in which the information is encoded is called the GENETIC CODE. It consists of all the triplet nucleotides in DNA or RNA that encodes an amino acid.

This genetic code is universal i.e. the same genetic code is employed by virtually all living organisms, as a codon does not encode another amino acid in another organism. It is universal that AUG specifies Methionine in all living organisms. This shows that all organism share a common evolutionary history.

Hence, it is possible for an organism to express a gene from another organism since the same genetic code will be used to read the information in the gene.
