Hey there! :)

All you have to do is find 35% of 800

<em>Remember that you have to change the percent to decimal</em>

35% = 0.35

0.35 × 800 = 280

Your answer is 280 tickets ; 0.35 × 800

Hope this helps :)

5. A blue whale calf swam from Miami, Florida, to Havana, Cuba, a distance of 228 miles, in 12
kow [346]

The average speed is 97346 feet per hour approximately

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

Given that blue whale calf swam from Miami, Florida, to Havana, Cuba, a distance of 228 miles, in 12  hours 22 minutes

To find: average rate of speed in feet per hour

<u><em>The speed is given by formula:</em></u>

speed = \frac{distance}{time}

From given information,

distance = 228 \text{ miles }

time = 12 \text { hours } 22 \text{ minutes }

We know that,

1 \text{ minute } = \frac{1}{60} \text{ hour}

Therefore,

12 \text { hours } 22 \text{ minutes } = 12 + \frac{22}{60} \text{ hour } = 12.3667 \text{ hour }

Substituting the values in above formula,

\text { speed }=\frac{228}{12.3667}=18.4366

Thus average speed is 18.4366 miles per hour

<em><u>Let us convert to feet per hour</u></em>

We know that,

1 mile = 5280 feet

Therefore,

18.4366 miles = 18.4366 x 5280 feet = 97345.248 feet

Thus average speed is 97346 feet per hour approximately

What is the greatest possible decimal that can be rounded to 8.03?
Allushta [10]
It would have to be rounded down
8.0349999999999........ is the greatest one
because the 4 rounds down, and every 9 after that doesn't affect the rounding, but it does add a small amount to the number

the number is less than 8.035
