Answer:

$5,000

Explanation:

The computation of the depreciation expense under the straight-line method is shown below:

Depreciation expense = (Original cost - residual value) ÷ (useful life)

                                      = ($50,000 - $5,000) ÷ (9 years)

                                      = ($45,000) ÷ (9 years)

                                      = $5,000

In this method, the depreciation is same for all the remaining useful life

The units are ignored in this method as it is used when units of production method applies

Computing absorption cost per unit and variable cost per unit Adamson, Inc. has the following cost data for Product X:
zvonat [6]

Answer:

unit cost for 2,000 units=$115

unit cost for 2,500 units =$113

unit cost for 5,000 units= $109

Explanation:

Absorption costing is method of costing where overheads are charged to units produced using volume-based bases. e.g machine hours, labour hours e.t.c. Units are valued using full cost per unit

Full cost per unit= Direct material cost + direct labor cost + Variable production overhead + Fixed production overhead

Fixed production overhead = Budgeted overhead/Budgeted production units

unit cost for 2,000 units

unit cost = 41 + 57 + 7 + (20,000/2000) = $115

unit cost for 2,500 units

unit cost = 41 + 57 + 7 + (20,000/2,500)= $113

unit cost for 5,000 units

unit cost = 41 + 57 + 7 + (20,000/5,000) = $109

unit cost for 2,000 units=$115

unit cost for 2,500 units =$113

unit cost for 5,000 units= $109

Nat2105 [25]

Answer:

Break-even point in units= 100,000 units

Explanation:

Giving the following information:

Your variable costs to produce each bottle is $1.

Your fixed costs are $100,000/year.

How many bottles must you sell at $3/bottle to cover your fixed costs and earn your target profit of $100,000

To calculate the number of units to be sold, we need to use the following formula:

Break-even point in units= (fixed costs + desired profit)/ contribution margin per unit

Break-even point in units= (200,000) / (3 - 1)

Break-even point in units= 100,000 units
