The answer is a. First you should subtract 2/3 from both sides. you will get 1/4t = - 1/6. then divide by 1/4 from both sides. t will equal -4/6 or -2/3

Well first you have to subtract 2/3 by itself and to 1/2.

1/4t(2/3-2/3)=(1/2-2/3)

Then in order to get t by itself you have to divide 1/4 by itself and to the other side.

(1/4t / 1/4) = (-1/6 / 1/4)

t=-2/3

Hope this helps!

Solve the following proportion for u.<br> 3/17 = u/13
NeTakaya

Answer:

2.294117647

Step-by-step explanation:

3/17  =  u/13

Cross multiply:

3 * 13 = 17 * u

Simplifying

3 * 13 = 17 * u

Multiply 3 * 13

39 = 17 * u

Solving

39 = 17u

Move all terms containing u to the left, all other terms to the right.

Add '-17u' to each side of the equation.

39 + -17u = 17u + -17u

Combine like terms: 17u + -17u = 0

39 + -17u = 0

Add '-39' to each side of the equation.

39 + -39 + -17u = 0 + -39

Combine like terms: 39 + -39 = 0

0 + -17u = 0 + -39

-17u = 0 + -39

Combine like terms: 0 + -39 = -39

-17u = -39

Divide each side by '-17'.

u = 2

Simplifying

u = 2.294117647

-. Mrs. Jones has a local bakery. Last week this expression shows how many peanut butter
Oksana_A [137]

Answer:

A) 22x-11

B) 121 cupcakes

Step-by-step explanation:

The expression that shows how many peanut butter

cupcakes she baked is 5 (2x-4) + 3(3+4x).

To simplify this, we need to use the distributive property:

We expand using the distributive property to get:

5(2x - 4) + 3(3 + 4x) = 10x - 20 + 9 + 12x

We group similar terms on the right to obtain:

5(2x - 4) + 3(3 + 4x) = 10x  +  12x- 20 + 9

Combine similar terms on the right to get:

5(2x - 4) + 3(3 + 4x) = 22x-11

Therefore the simplified expression is

22x - 11

B) We want to find how many cupcakes Mrs Jones baked last week, when x=6.

We substitute 6 into the simplified expression for x to get

22(6) - 11 = 132 - 11 = 121

Therefore she baked 121 cupcakes last week.
