Jay treaty or Jay's treaty which is also referred to as Treaty of Commerce, Amity and Navigation, in between the Britannic Majesty and USA, this treaty was known to have averted war in between the USA and the Great Britain. This Treaty was originally designed by Hamilton and thus supported by the then President George Washington. It was also known to have angered France and thus bitterly divided the Americans.
