It challenges all of the conventions of art.

Further Explanation:

Readymade is an every object that is selected and designated as an art and the name readymade was used for the first time and coined by French artist Marcel Duchamp. Readymade in simple words is an art which is created from the undisguised but is modified and readymade work is not considered as art. Another term which is used as Readymade is ‘Prefabrication’.

It is a practice in which one assembles components of a structure in some factory or any other manufacturing site and then those components are transported to the site where that structure is to be located. Process of readymade or prefabrication is followed to manufacture ships, aircrafts and all other kinds of vehicles as parts of these are manufactured in different sites or locations but are assembled at one point before final delivery. Readymade art system poses challenges to the conventional form of art in which all the modifications used to take place at one place only.

Name this example of Rock art. Explain the history of this piece and what it shows.
Leni [432]

In archaeology, rock art is human-made markings placed on natural stone; it is largely synonymous with parietal art. A global phenomenon, rock art is found in many culturally diverse regions of the world. It has been produced in many contexts throughout human history, although the majority of rock art that has been ethnographically recorded has been produced as a part of ritual. Such artworks are often divided into three forms: petroglyphs, which are carved into the rock surface, pictographs, which are painted onto the surface, and earth figures, formed on the ground. The oldest known rock art dates from the Upper Palaeolithic period, having been found in Europe, Australia, Asia and Africa. Archaeologists studying these artworks believe that they likely had magico-religious significance.
