These figures of one million or more deaths include the deaths of civilians from diseases, famine , etc., as well as deaths of soldiers in battle and massacres and genocide. Where only one estimate is available, it appears in both the low and high estimates. This is a sortable table. Click on the column sort buttons to sort results numerically or alphabetically. The United Nations Convention Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (CPPCG) defines genocide in part as "acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group". Determining what historical events constitute a genocide and which are merely criminal or inhuman behavior is not a clear-cut matter. In nearly every case where accusations of genocide have circulated, partisans of various sides have disputed the interpretation and details of the event, often to the point of promoting different versions of the facts. An accusation of genocide will almost always be controversial. Determining the number of persons killed in each genocide can be just as difficult, with political, religious and ethnic biases or prejudices often leading to downplayed or exaggerated figures. Some of the accounts below may include ancillary causes of death such as malnutrition and disease, which may or may not have been intentionally inflicted

What was the Catholic Church's response to Martin Luther's 95 Theses?
tresset_1 [31]

Answer: The Catholic Church responded to the challenges of Luther, Calvin, and the Protestant movement initially in a somewhat mild way, allowing Luther to argue his position. In a brief paragraph identify the investigations that led to factories developing
Keith_Richards [23]

Factories wouldn’t have developed if it weren’t for the industrial revolution. The Industrial Revolution wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for the great inventions that led its birth. These inventions are the Spinning Jenny, the Water Frame, the Steam Engine and the Locomotive. The Spinning Jenny was a machine that could spin threads of wool. The Water frame was a large wheel that was turned by running water. The Steam Engine used steam to create energy to power a machine. The Locomotive was the first train that could transport people on roads.

What were the Rosenbergs convicted of? Do you think the sentence fits the crime given that they had two young boys under the age
tresset_1 [31]

Answer:

The Rosenbergs were convicted of spying on behalf of the Soviet Union.

No, I think that the sentence was too severe. The Rosenbergs' two sons were orphaned by the executions and were not adopted by any relatives.

One of the sons, Michael Meeropol, wrote The Rosenberg Letters: A Complete Edition of the Prison Correspondence of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. It recited letters exchanged between Ethel Rosenberg and her sons. In the letters, Ethel felt optimistic that she would be released because of her innocence.
