Write a short definition for the prediction step of previewing.
Sever21 [200]

Answer:

Previewing the text to get an overview

Previewing a text means that you get an idea of what it is about without actually reading the main body of the text.

2. Skimming

Skimming involves running your eye very quickly over large chunks of text. It is different from previewing because skimming involves the paragraph text. Skimming allows you to pick up some of the main ideas without paying attention to detail. It is a fast process. A single chapter should take only a few minutes.

3. Scanning

Scanning is sweeping your eyes (like radar) over part of a text to find specific pieces of information.

4. Intensive reading

Intensive reading is detailed, focused, ‘study’ reading of those important parts, pages or chapters.

This is 4 general steps, and will get you a 100%.

Which excerpt from Tinker v. Des Moines shows how precedent helps<br> support an argument?
Elena L [17]

Answer:

The correct answer is B.

Explanation:

The excerpt from Tinker v. Des Moines that shows how precedent helps support an argument is: "Other cases cited by the Court do not, as implied, follow the McReynolds reasonableness doctrine. West Virginia v. Barnette, 319 U.S. 624, clearly rejecting the 'reasonableness' test, held that the Fourteenth Amendment made the First applicable to the States". This excerpt shows how the Supreme Court uses decisions of other cases already resolved to support arguments within cases in decision at the moment .In the present case, the Court uses the precedent West Virginia v. Barnette, in which the doctrine of "reasonableness" of McReynolds is not admitted, to apply it to the case Tinker v. Des Moines.

1. What new forms of writing have developed in our networked world, and how has our writing changed as a result? (10 points)
MArishka [77]

One way writing has developed is blogs and other platforms to post written work. It allows writers to publish news stories to an audience that can interact with the post. This has resulted in writing becoming more short and precise, and only focuses on the most important parts of the story.
