Changing x\mapsto -x "inverts" the orientation of the x axis, so the graph of f(x) is transformed by reflecting it about the y axis.

How do you graph linear equations
Morgarella [4.7K]

Answer:

Look At the y over x. X is how many places you move on the x-axis. Y is how many places that you move up. So you would repeat that where the Y intercept is.

Step-by-step explanation: for example: y=2x+1. You would move up 2 places and over on the X axis one place, and since 1 is the Y-intercept that is where it would intercept on the Y-axis.

For the given sequence: -10, -5, 0, 5, 10...
Find the 38th term.
aivan3 [116]

Answer:

175

Step-by-step explanation:

1)Firstly you have to find the nth term of the sequence -10,-5,0,5. There a gap or +5 in each term meaning it's 5n. If we substitute n with the number it is in the sequence we can find out the next part of the nth term. For example the first number of the sequence is -10 meaning 5n+x = -10. We repleace n with the 1 since it is the first number in the sequence and we get 5+x = -10. In order to find x by itself we -5 from both sides and we get x =-15. Now we know the nth term of -10,-5,0,5 is 5n-15

2) Now that the hard part is out of the way the rest is simple. N simply reprents the term the number is in. If we want to find out the 38th term we replace n with 38. We get 5x38-15 = 175

Find the length of the diagonal of
rectangle whose length
is 12ft and whose
width 5 ft
Nezavi [6.7K]

Answer:

13 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula to find the length of the diagonal of a rectangle =

Diagonal² = Length² + Width²

Diagonal = √Length² + Width²

Length = 12 ft

Width = 5ft

Diagonal = √12² + 5²

Diagonal = √144 + 25

Diagonal = √169

Diagonal = 13 ft

The length of the diagonal of the rectangle = 13 ft
