A boxplot is a statistical instrument that is used for showing graphically how a dataset is distributed by representing its quantiles.
The quantiles are three points which divide the data set in four equal-size subgroups, with the same number of observations in each. The first quantile is located in 12.5 hence, the first division of the dataset contains observations that range from 0 to 12.5.
