The US military combat unit size was drastically reduced by the end of World War I.

Answer: Option A

Explanation:

As it is well known that the defeat of Germans in the World War I is only due to the interference of US at the end of war. The US army fought bravely and large amount of money was utilized for transport of convoys to defeat the German army.

After successful victory over the German, the troops were called back to home. But the loss in economy due to the war lead to absence of any welfare schemes for the war veterans. And thus this lead to displeasure among the army people who fought in the war.

So, the after years of US saw a decrease in the size of the combats followed by continuous strikes conducted by the war veterans for their educational and service readjustment benefits. This lead to political disturbances followed by unemployment in army leading to reduction in size of combats.

Eddie is caught shoplifting a cell phone at Best Buy again. Eddie is 19 years old. This will be his third felony conviction, all
schepotkina [342]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

In judging whether this is fair handling of the case, ask:

A. Is it fair to Eddie?

Youngsters have to learn to be responsible for their life. They know that for every action there is a consequence. In this case, it is the third time that this happened. So it is not new for him, and he really knew what he was entering. So he got what he deserves.

B. Is it fair to Best Buy?

Best Buy is a serious company with a good reputation in the market. It has to follow rules and regulations and respect the law. Eddie is a criminal and there are procedures to be followed.

C. Is it fair to society?

I think this is not a matter of fairness, but to obey the law that is the same to all. This application of the law allows people to live in harmony in society. Otherwise, everybody would act according to their interests and advantages.

D. Is it in the best interest of society to punish Eddie severely?

It is in the best interest of society to punish Eddie to give a clear message. It's the law. You have to obey it, otherwise, there would be chaos in society. Furthermore, it was not the first time Eddie committed a crime, it is the third time. He had his chances to improve his conduct and learn his lessons. He decided otherwise. And as I said, for every action there is a consequence.

Which of the following best summarizes the relationship of the church and government of the Massachusetts Bay Colony?
Anna71 [15]

Answer:

The correct answer is They made no distinction between affairs of the state and affairs of the church.

Explanation:

The Massachusetts Bay Colony was established by English settlers and funded by the Massachusetts Bay Company. Forming the New England region, the colony became highly successful and traded fur and other textiles.

This early settlement eventually became a modern town and even had it's own mint.

However, this was a very traditional settlement and people had a close relationship with the church. So much so, that most people did not consider them two different institutions and accept the profound impact of religion on local governance.
