Answer: -3x + 4, (2,-2)

Step-by-step explanation:

First, you want to get y alone on one side.

3x + y = 4

     -4    -4        subtract 4 to get it on the left side.

     -y     -y       subtract y to get it alone on the right side.

Your'e left with 3x - 4 = -y      divide the whole equation by -1 do get a pos y

You then have y = -3x + 4. That's the first part of your answer.

To get the second part plug in (-3x + 4) into the y of the first equation, this is the substitution part.

-2x + 5(-3x+4) =-14        distribute the 5...     -2x - 15x +20 = -14

add your like terms ( x and x)                       -17x + 20 = -14

Isolate your x by subtracting the 20, both sides  -20   -20

-17x = -34    divide both side by 17 you get x = 2 (---- this is your first coordinate in the pair in your answer. To get the y do the same but solve for y instead of x.

You can work no more than 60 hours each week at your two jobs. Dog walking pays $7 per hour and your sales job at Computers &amp
SVEN [57.7K]

Answer:

Is not a possible solution

Because the number of hours can not be negative

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x------> the number of hours in the dog walking job

y----->  the number of hours in the sales job

we know that

x+y\leq 60 -----> inequality A

7x+12y\geq 450 ------> inequality B

Remember that

If a ordered pair is a solution of the system of inequalities

then

the ordered pair must satisfy both inequalities

we have

(-3,50) ------> Is not a possible solution

Because the number of hours can not be negative

Find the distance between points P(5, 1) and Q(1, 3) to the nearest tenth.
bonufazy [111]

Answer:

Idk if its multiple choice but you can do 1 of 2 ways theres using distance formula =√(5-3)sq+(1-4)sq

=√4+9

=√13 <--

or

3.6 units

Given: The two points that are P(5,1) and Q(3,4).

To find: The distance between these two points.

Solution: It is given that there are two points that are P(5,1) and Q(3,4).

The distance between these two points can be found out as using the distance formula that is: 3.6

Thus, the distance between the given two points is 3.6 units.

So you choose 13 or 3.6 Hope this helps :)
