The First Continental Congress was promoted <u>to unite the colonies against the British Empire that was trying to recover the control after the Seven Years War. </u>The several economic acts against the American settlers, and the violent repression after the Boston Tea Party led the colonies to attend this congress and discuss the American revolution. However, <u>at the time this meeting was happening, the Colony of Georgia was under attack by a neighbor Native American tribe, and had received support from the British Empire. </u>Georgia couldn't send a representative <u>to not betrayal the British government and lose military support.</u>
