A rhombus is an off-center square. Therefore, all the sides are the same length. Here, they are all 15. Also, the diagonals of a rhombus bisect each other, so if the one segment of the diagonal is 12, then the other half of that segment is also 12. The length of 1 diagonal is 24. We need to find the length of the other side. Using Pythagorean's theorem we can find the leg of that right triangle with side measure 12 and hypotenuse 15. 15^{2}- 12^{2} = b^{2} and 225 - 144 = b^2, and b^2 = 81 therefore, b = 9. If that half of the segment of the diagonal is 9, then the other half is 9 as well, giving us the second diagonal length of 18. The formula for the area of the rhombus is A= \frac{1}{2} d_{1} d_{2}. A= \frac{1}{2} (24)(18). The area, then, is 216 in squared.

a tree casts a shadow that is 24 feet in length. If the angle of elevation is 30 degrees, which of the following best represents
Ratling [72]

Answer:

13.856 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

The height of the tree and its shadow forms a right angle. Together with the line joining the pit of the shadow and the tree make a right triangle.

We can use the trigonometric ratio tangent to find its height.

tan = opposite/adjacent

tam 30° = x/24

height = 24 × tan 30°

           = 24 ×0.57735

           = 13.856 feet

Approximate the distance between (0, -5) and (4, 1) to the nearest tenth, if necessary.
frutty [35]

Answer:

7.7

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this question we must use Pythagoras (a²+b²=c²) Let those two dots be A and B respectively.Imagine a line is drawn that pases through both dots,

Imagine that the line given is the hypotenuse (the longest side of a right-angled triangle) of a right-angled triangle and the other sides as a line from A going to the right, and a line from B going downwards, making the final vertexes for the triangle at coordinates: 0,-5 4,1 and 4,-5 (the vertex we made). now we find the lengths for the sides: 4 and 6 so we use these to plug them into pythagoras's equation:

4²+6²=c²

24+36=c²

√60=c

c=7.74....

But all we need is until the tenths so the answer is 7.7 (as the hundredths digit, 4, rounds down)

Four brothers each bought two hotdogs and a bag of chips at the football concession stand. If the bag of chips was $1.25, and th
forsale [732]

The price of one hot dog was $1.65

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that each of the four brothers bought two hotdogs and a packet of chips each.

Total number of hotdogs they bought=4*2 =8

Total bags of chips they bought= 4

price of a bag of chips=$1.25

Total price of items=$18.2

let the price of a hotdog=x

then8x+4\times 1.25=18.2

8x+5=18.2

8x=18.2-5

8x=13.2

x=13.2/8

  =1.65

The price of one hotdog=$1.65

A. Divide both sides by 4

You want to get the value of x not 4x so in order to do that u can have divide both sides by 4 to get x alone on one side.
