Sarah plays softball where a single is one base, a double is two bases, a triple is three bases, and a home run is four bases. I

n her last game, she only hit singles and triples, for a total of 14 bases. She had two more triples than singles.

Answer:

She hit two singles and four triples

Step-by-step explanation:

So we don’t know how many triples or singles she has but we know it equals 14 when added together. So I set my equation up like 1x+3x=14. Honestly frkm there I didn’t really use an equation. I knew that 3x4=12 and that’s the closest I could get to 14 then 1x2=2 and 12+2=14. Using that equation she hit two more triples than singles and it adds up to 14. Sorry I don’t know if that even helps because I didn’t have a formula but if you just needed to know the answer here ya go

Answer:

She hit 2 singles and 4 triples

Step-by-step explanation:

x - number of singles

x+2 - number of triples

x + 3(x+2) = 14

x + 3x + 6 = 14

4x + 6 = 14

4x = 8

x = 2

x+2 = 2 + 2 = 4

In the figure below which term best describes point X?
Dmitrij [34]

The answer is B. centroid, which is the intersection of three medians of the triangle's sides.

Let's look into other answers as well:

A. Circumcenter

It is the point where three perpendicular bisector meet, and is not correct as we can see there is no indication of right angles.

The first photo is what a circumcenter looks like:

C. Incenter

It is the point where the angle bisectors of the triangles meet, which is not indicated in the photo as well.

The second photo is what a incenter looks like:

D. Orthocenter

It is a point where the altitudes of a triangle intersect, and is not indicated by the figure.

The second photo is what a Orthocenter looks like:

Therefore the answer is B. Centroid.

Hope it helps!

What are the coordinates of the vertices of the pre-image given? ry= −x ◦ T1, −2(x, y)
nataly862011 [7]

Answer:

Hence, the coordinates of pre-image are:

A(1,6) , B(0,4) , C(3,4) , D(2,6)

Step-by-step explanation:

We have to find the coordinates of the vertices of the pre-image given?

Ry= −x ◦ T_1, −2(x, y)

i.e. we have to find the composition of reflection along the line y=-x and translation with the rule:

(x,y) → (x+1,y-2)

Now we have coordinates of A",B",C" and D" as:

A"(-4,-2)

B"(-2,-1)

C"(-2,-4)

D"(-4,-3)

Now we are asked to find the coordinates of the pre-image.

Also when any point is reflected along y=-x then the point is transformed to:

(x,y) → (-y,-x)

Let A,B,C and D are the points of the pre-image.

Hence, the coordinates of the pre-image are given as:

so, the transformation is given as:

A→A'→A"

B→B'→B"

C→C'→C"

D→D'→D"

Where A',B',C',D' represents the transformation after translation and A",B",C",D" represents the transformation after reflection as well.

The coordinates of A' are (2,4)

B' are (1,2)

C' are (4,2)

and D' are (3,4)

Now, the coordinates of pre-image are given as:

A'(x,y) → A(x-1,y+2)=A(1,6)

B'(x,y) → B(x-1,y+2)=B(0,4)

C'(x,y) → C(x-1,y+2)=C(3,4)

and D'(x,y) → D(x-1,y+2)=D(2,6)

Hence, the coordinates of pre-image are:

A(1,6) , B(0,4) , C(3,4) , D(2,6)

Could someone help me with this?

First, convert both fractions into improper fractions:

-2 and 1/4= -9/4
-4 and 1/2= -9/2

Now we can find the product!

-9/4 x -9/2= 81/8

(Remember that when you multiply two negatives, the product turns positive)

And because 81/8 cannot be reduced, to find your final answer, just covert 81/8 into a mixed fraction!

81/8= 10 and 1/8

Hope this helps!
