Answer:

D. Controlled.

Explanation:

In his speech to the Virginia Convention which have now become famously known as the "Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death", Patrick Henry implored on the authorities or delegates of the convention to secede from being under the authority of the British. He points why America needs to go to war against its colonizers, to fight for freedom and government, without the need to be governed by a foreign nation.

In the given passage taken from the speech, he questions whether they (Americans) are restless and uncontrollable that they cannot be organized and work together. He wonders why the use of force is the only way they can be "<em>called"</em> to work together to free their nation from the clutches of the English. The word <em>"reconciled" </em>here means "controlled", which is what Henry thinks is why they need to be forced to work together for their liberty.

        The Space Race

The wonderful space race, beginning in 1955 and lasting until 1975 was a competition between the United States and the Soviet Union where they were trying to achieve superiority in spaceflight. The competition between the U.S and the Soviet Union began in 1955 when the U.S announced their intention to launch artificial satellites, and four days later the Soviet Union announced that they would also be launching a satellite(s) “in the near future”

In October 1957 the USSR achieved the first successful satellite launch, as well as in April 1961 sent the first human into orbit beating the U.S in first human into orbit which took place in May 1961. Shortly after the U.Ss first human launch, John F. Kennedy proceeded to raise the stakes and asked the U.S Congress to commit to the goal of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely. Both the U.S and the Soviet Union then proceeded to develop super heavy lift launch vehicles, and later in July of 1969 Apollo 11 proceeded to launch and land man on the moon, the USSR pursued two crewed lunar programs but failed to beat the U.S in first man on the moon, and later began to concentrate on Salyut which was the first space station program.

Why was the russian involvement in the war so important to the allies?
Alchen [17]
In 1914 the Russian government considered Germany to be the main threat to its territory. This was reinforced by Germany's decision to form the Triple Alliance. Under the terms of this military alliance, Germany, Austria-Hungary and Italy agreed to support each other if attacked by either France or Russia. In 1907 Russia joined Britain and France to form the Triple Entente.
Industrial unrest in Russia continued throughout this period and in 1912 hundreds of striking miners were massacred at the Lena goldfields. During the first six months of 1914, almost half of the total industrial workforce in Russia took part in strikes.
In 1914 the Russian Army was the largest army in the world. However, Russia's poor roads and railways made the effective deployment of these soldiers difficult.
The Russian Army Air Service (RAAS) was established in 1912 and two years later owned 360 aircraft and 16 airships. This made the RAAS the largest airforce in the world.
In 1914 the Russian Navy had 4 battleships, 10 cruisers, 21 destroyers, 11 submarines and 50 torpedo boats.
On the outbreak of the First World War General Alexander Samsonov was given command of the Russian Second Army for the invasion of East Prussia. He advanced slowly into the south western corner of the province with the intention of linking up with General Paul von Rennenkampf advancing from the north east.
