es. One of his many roles was winning the election for town messenger in Exeter, New Hampshire, in 1774. As a result, he contributed to the American Revolution by supporting the work of
<h3><em><u>Paul Revere</u></em>is perhaps best known for his role in warning the colonists that British troops were marching from Boston to Lexington and Concord. As the town messenger, Cheswell rode with Revere to warn nearby towns of Britain's efforts. Cheswell would later fight in the American Revolution and return to public office following the conclusion of the war.</h3>
